Shipowner, Merchant. His ancestral origins can be traced to Zhuangjiang, in Tong’an（同安） district, Fujian province, China. He was the son of Quah Joo Moye, a prominent Hokkien community leader in Penang （also the board of directors of Hokkien Cemetery in 1886）.
