Quah Beng Hoe
Shipowner, Merchant. His ancestral origins can be traced to Zhuangjiang, in Tong’an(同安) district, Fujian province, China. He was the son of Quah Joo Moye, a prominent Hokkien community leader in Penang (also the board of directors of Hokkien Cemetery in 1886). Quah co-founded a shipping firm, Beng Brothers, with his siblings (Beng Kee, Beng Hong, Beng Kang), operated a shipping business. Reference/ Further Reading Loh Wei Leng et al., eds. 2013.
